Across the bridges, the East Bay is home ground too

A lot of Bay Area moves cross the water at some point. Oakland, Berkeley, and the inner East Bay

Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Alameda, Albany, and Piedmont bring every kind of access challenge in a few square miles: hillside homes on narrow, winding streets, older multi-story houses with long exterior stairs, and newer mid-rise buildings with loading docks, service-elevator windows, and Certificate of Insurance requirements. Contra Costa and the Tri-Valley

Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore tend to mean larger homes, longer driveways, and more furniture per room. Many neighborhoods have HOA move rules or set hours, so we plan the timeline around them. Crews handle disassembly and reassembly of beds, desks, and sectionals in house, so the home is livable the first night.

Southern Alameda County and West Contra Costa

San Leandro, Castro Valley, Hayward, Union City, Fremont, Newark, Richmond, and El Cerrito sit on the main corridors between San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley. That makes them common starting points and destinations for cross-bay moves. We schedule around bridge and freeway traffic so the truck is loading when it should be, not idling on the I-880 or the San Mateo Bridge.

California long distance

Moving across California from the Bay Area

Not every move stays inside the nine counties. Impel plans in-state long-distance moves from the Bay Area to Sacramento, the Central Valley, Lake Tahoe and Truckee, the Central Coast, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Redding. In-state long-distance moves ride on one truck with one crew from pickup to delivery. The same coordinator plans your load day and your delivery, and every detail is written down before the truck is loaded.

Where a local move ends and a long-distance move begins

California sets the rules for household moves inside the state. Moves under 100 constructive miles are generally priced by the hour. Moves over 100 constructive miles are generally priced by weight and distance. "Constructive miles" come from the state's official distance table, not your map app, so a route like San Francisco to Sacramento can land close to the line. We tell you which pricing applies to your route before you book.

Detailed written estimate. Your written estimate becomes your not-to-exceed price, plus any services you add through a written change order.
Paperwork before move day. You receive the moving services agreement and the state's consumer booklet ahead of the move, so there are no surprises at the door.
Protection options explained. Basic coverage is set by the state at 60 cents per pound per article. We walk you through higher protection levels before you decide.
