Certificate questions

What is a certificate of insurance?+

A certificate of insurance, or COI, is a one-page document from our insurer confirming our coverage and naming your building. Most managed buildings require one on file before a moving crew is allowed to use the elevator or loading dock.

How long does it take?+

We send certificates within one business day of receiving the request. If your building needs it sooner, call us at 510-571-2080 and we will push it through.

What does my building need to tell you?+

The exact legal name the certificate should be issued to, the building address, and any required coverage limits or additional insured wording. If you have the building's requirements in writing, paste them into the requirements field or reply to the confirmation email with the document attached.

Do I need a quote before requesting a certificate?+

No. You can request the certificate first. If you have not booked yet, we will follow up about your move at the same time.

Can you send it directly to my property manager?+

Yes. Add their name and email and we will send it to them and copy you, so you can confirm the building has it on file.

Is there a charge?+

No. Certificates are issued at no cost to customers and prospective customers.
